Still Using a Google Plus Link on Your Website? Change It to GMB Reviews

Goodbye, Google Plus. Hello Google My Business (GMB) Reviews

In the past we would always put a social icon link to a company's Google + Profile along with the other social icons (FB, Twitter, etc.).  Because Google Plus hasn't been used actively in a while, it's finally time to change the icon link on your website from your Google Plus profile to your Google My Business reviews area. Not only is a modern upgrade, but it will help facilitate patient reviews.

How to Find the Link to Your GMB Review Section

  1. Go to the
    Google Places API page
    .
  2. Enter your location on the map (start typing in your verified business) and click the dropdown where the name appears.

  3. You will then be given an ID. Copy down the ID.
  4. Take the following URL:
    https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=

and add your ID from step 3 to the end of the line.  So the finished link would look like:

    https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOP

(where ABCDEFG...is your ID from step 3).

Now that you have the link, you can change your Google Plus icon to link to your GMB review area!
